GOVERNANCE OF THE CENTURY CEASE-FIRE IMPERATIVE, INC.
The Century Cease-Fire Imperative, Inc. is a recently incorporated non-profit organization formed under the laws of the State of Maryland in the United States.
The non-profit corporation seeks to obtain tax-exempt status under the provisions of Section 501(c)(3) of the US Internal Revenue Code of 1986, so that donations made to the non-profit corporation would be deductible to the fullest extent of the law for charitable contributions. A final IRS determination of this non-profit corporation’s application for status as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization may not be made for many months. Until such time, any donations to the Century Cease-Fire Imperative, Inc. would not be eligible a for tax deduction under Section 501(c)(3).
When the IRS makes its final determination regarding the status of this non-profit corporation, that determination will be announced on this website.
The Century Cease-Fire Imperative, Inc. is governed by the following initial members of its Board of Directors:

The Century Cease-Fire Imperative, Inc. also has an International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) consisting of the following members:

The Century Cease-Fire Imperative, Inc. intends to select various national and regional Student Advisory Boards from time to time.
The following initial officers of The Century Cease-Fire Imperative, Inc. shall serve until their successors are duly elected and qualify:

Brief Biographies of the Board of Directors:
Jonathan M. Genn, 52, is a business executive and general counsel for a Maryland based privately-held real estate development company. Mr. Genn is a 1982 graduate of University of Maryland School of Law, where he was also a Notes and Comments Editor of the Maryland Law Review and an American Jurisprudence Award Recipient for Constitutional Law. Mr. Genn is a 1979 graduate of Georgetown University, where we was a Government Honors Society Award Recipient. While attending Georgetown University (majoring in Government), Mr. Genn was a volunteer intern in The White House (the White House Comments Office) in 1977, beginning after the Inauguration of President Jimmy Carter. Mr. Genn’s other roles in public policy matters included working as the Assistant to Director of Issues and Research in the Washington, DC National Campaign Headquarters for the 1972 George McGovern Presidential Campaign. The Director of Issues and Research at the time was Mr. Ted Van Dyke. Mr. Genn is also a Director of a number of non-profit, charitable and community organizations. Mr. Genn’s opinions regarding the Century Cease-Fire™ are those of Jonathan M. Genn only, and do not necessarily reflect the opinions or views of any business enterprise, charitable organization, or any other affiliation Jonathan M. Genn may have.
William Smillie is a former Executive with IBM’s Learning and Knowledge function within its Global Business Services, where he led the professional development programs for all consulting Partners and staff worldwide. This included the development of the Springboard Programme to accelerate the acquisition of core competencies necessary for each individual to reach their next level of promotion. He also provided thought leadership in project management best practices and delivery excellence, based on his perspectives gained from over 30 years of international programme and project management. He currently provides a wide range of management consulting and facilitation services through his company, Tamarac Consulting LLC. He believes that the deepest learning comes from change – and vice versa. In either case, a powerful question is a great place to start. Mr. Smillie also serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Friends School of Baltimore.
George Stone, Ph.D. grew up in the inland deserts of Southern California and attended the University of California, Irvine where he received his B.S. and Ph.D. He then conducted biomedical research in cell and molecular neurobiology at University of Miami Medical School, City of Hope Research Institute, and the Nathan Kline Institute for Psychiatric Research for an ensuing 15 years. After a 3 year sabbatical during which time he was Real Estate Vice President at Percontee, Inc., involved in commercial real estate and land development in suburban Washington DC, he returned to biomedical research as a research administrator at the National Institutes of Health. During an 11 year tenure at the NIH, George rose to the position of Director of the Division of Extramural Inventions and Technology Resources within the Office of Extramural Research. Since leaving the NIH in 2004, he has pursued interests in alternative energy and sustainable land development as the President of GreenStone Ventures, in addition to owning and operating, with his wife Holly, the Medomak Camp and Retreat Center in the mid-coast region of Maine. George is active in his community serving on the Board of Oseh Shalom Synagogue, and also sits on the National Board of the Jewish Reconstructionist Federation. Like his fellow members of the Board of the Century Cease Fire™, George is committed to working toward a century where mutual respect for the diversity of beliefs takes the place of aggression and violence.
